Another one of those reminders about how different things are here. Not always better, not always worse, just different.<\/p>\n
Yesterday I went to the pharmacy to get a prescription filled. The nice lady behind the counter checked and they did not have the item I required.<\/p>\n
She offered to phone the pharmacy across the street to see if they had it.<\/p>\n
I said that would be great and that I would do some other shopping while she did that.<\/p>\n
I go through the store to get the other items I needed and returned to the pharmacy window.<\/p>\n
The nice lady says:<\/p>\n
Yes, they have it across the street. Here is your prescription.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
and she handed me the doctors prescription sheet and smiled.<\/p>\n
I blinked.<\/p>\n
I blinked again.<\/p>\n
Then it dawned on me.<\/p>\n
They are not going to send “a boy” scurrying across the street to fetch my medication for me.<\/p>\n
I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO WALK OVER THERE MYSELF. IN THE RAIN.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
ay da?!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
And this is supposedly a civilized <\/em>country!<\/p>\n
