In Quarantine until June 15th

Posted on Tuesday 9 June 2009

Well it is official:

5 students from Seton Hall have tested positive for H1N1. They look fine (they had them coralled in a corner with surgical masks on).

The dorm is locked down till June 15th.

That means no Dahab trip for us.

It is going to be a loonnngg week.

Jack, this sucks. Have you been hearing from AUC on this at all? I’m wondering if they can really justify this many days of quarantine if everyone currently in the building has tested negative and is asymptomatic. Is this AUC or Egypt?

Jack: I am pretty sure this is Egypt, not AUC’s decision. AUC probably decided to close campus, but the lockdown decision is the Ministry of Health’s decision.

One of the clinic’s doctors has been here the entire time.

Can they justify it? To whom? Us? no. To themselves? Obviously.
